MarCELL Pro industrial monitoring module connected to pressure, tank level, and pump run sensors in a technical workshop.

Upgrade Your MarCELL Pro With Industrial-Grade Monitoring

Industrial Sensing. MarCELL Monitoring Simplicity. Anywhere.

The MarCELL Pro ecosystem has taken a massive leap forward in industrial remote monitoring. Designed specifically for facility managers, system integrators, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the new MarCELL Industrial I/O Expansion Module brings plug-and-play simplicity to heavy-duty equipment and environmental tracking.

This compact, DIN-rail-mountable module bridges the gap between complex industrial infrastructure and reliable cellular telemetry. It allows businesses to directly integrate standard industrial sensors and critical auxiliary equipment without dealing with the staggering costs, programming barriers, or deployment delays of conventional PLC or SCADA systems.

Key Capabilities & Hardware Specifications

The module is built to expand your tracking horizon by introducing two highly requested input standards directly into your unified cloud dashboard:

1. Two (2) 4–20 mA Current Loop Inputs

Permits continuous analog tracking for high-precision industrial sensors to measure real-time variables such as:

  • Pressure & Flow meters
  • Tank Level transmitters
  • Temperature & Vibration sensors

2. Seven (7) Dry Contact Inputs

Enables immediate binary state and event monitoring for standard electrical hardware:

  • Relays and Float switches
  • Door & Security monitoring
  • Pump run signals
  • Auxiliary alarm panel outputs

Smart Telemetry & Industrial Design

  • Rugged Industrial Build: Features a clean, DIN-rail-ready housing optimized for control panels, pump stations, mechanical rooms, and tight electrical enclosures.
  • Intelligent Reporting Intervals: Operates efficiently with standard routine updates every 30 minutes, transitioning instantly to ultra-responsive 5-minute real-time updates as soon as an alarm threshold is triggered.
  • Seamless MarCELL Pro Integration: Maps directly into your existing dashboard infrastructure, feeding historical charts, trends, and unified alert configurations.
  • Effortless Setup: No code required. Simply open the intuitive MarCELL cloud web interface to assign custom names to each input, establish precise operational thresholds, and define your text, call, or email notification chains.

Understanding the Tech: What is 4–20 mA Current Loop Sensing?

You may be wondering why we are making this type of system, here is a quick breakdown of where and why current loop systems are used.

How It Works

A closed loop environment typically consists of a power supply (frequently 24V DC), an active sensor, a signal transmitter, and the controller or receiver (in this case, your MarCELL module). The sensor evaluates a physical condition (such as temperature or pressure) and the transmitter maps that absolute state into an exact proportional electrical current value.

Under this standard, data is translated linearly across a strict boundary scale:

  • 4 mA = Zero / Minimum Scale Reading (e.g., empty tank or 0 PSI)
  • 12 mA = 50% Scale Reading
  • 20 mA = Maximum Full-Scale Reading (e.g., full tank or max rated PSI)

Why Industrial Environments Rely on 4–20 mA

  1. Long Distance Accuracy: Unlike voltage signals which drop and distort measurements over extended cabling distances, current remains completely uniform everywhere along a continuous single loop—even across miles of wiring.
  2. Inherent Noise Immunity: Industrial plants are crowded with magnetic interference and high-frequency electronic noise from motors and switchgear. Low-impedance current loops natively filter and ignore this ambient noise.
  3. Built-in Safety (“Live Zero”): By treating 4 mA as the absolute lower operational bound instead of 0 mA, the loop includes built-in line integrity verification. If a cable physically snaps or a sensor loses total power, the loop drops to exactly 0 mA. The MarCELL module catches this immediate drop, registering it as a system fault rather than mistaking it for a low measurement.
